The children were absolutely thrilled to have Mr. Day, the experienced beekeeper, visit our Reception Class on Monday 13 May.
With excitement in the air, they eagerly soaked up all the fascinating information about the vital role bees play in our ecosystem. From learning about the intricate process of honey production to understanding the bittersweet reality of a bee's stinger, the children were captivated by every detail shared by Mr. Day and his daughter, Miss Day.
Their hands-on experience of tasting the sweet, golden local honey left a lasting impression, sparking a newfound admiration for these hardworking pollinators. As World Bee Day approaches on 20 May, this educational and engaging visit was the perfect way to celebrate and appreciate the wonderful world of bees.
