Leweston students commemorate the 1940 bombing of Sherborne with a moving presentation at Sherborne’s History Pageant, launching the Sherborne Festival.
On Friday 13 June, students from Years 7 to 9 represented Leweston School at Sherborne’s History Pageant. Each Sherborne school took on a different era of the town’s history, with Leweston exploring the impact of the September 1940 bombing of Sherborne.
Our students delivered a thoughtful presentation, beautifully concluded by Alma, Lola, and Venice performing “Goodnight Children Everywhere,” made famous by Vera Lynn.
The event, set against a backdrop of sunshine, was a wonderful way to bring the community together and launch the Sherborne Festival.
