International Public Speaking Competition at Leweston featured captivating presentations and recognised outstanding talents among students from Leweston and Sherborne schools.
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an International Public Speaking Competition, welcoming participants from Sherborne Boys, Sherborne Girls, and Sherborne Prep.
In the weeks leading up to the event, our International Prefect, Bevan L, along with Hugh D, served as judges to narrow down our international representation to just three students. Representing Leweston were Alma M (Year 8), Sofia A (Year 9), and Regina LF (Year 10).
Our judges for the evening, Mr Ryan-East (Head of Sixth Form) and Mrs Simkins-Smith (Director of Boarding), were treated to captivating presentations on topics such as bringing Harry Potter spells to life, the marvels of Uzbekistan, the benefits of studying abroad, and more. Alma M received the Most Highly Commended award, while 1st place went to Nehad from Sherborne Boys, 2nd to Sofia from Sherborne Prep, and 3rd to Kai from Sherborne Boys.
It was a delightful evening where students had the chance to mingle and reconnect, with many catching up after our recent Christmas social. We eagerly anticipate gathering again in the summer for a picnic.
