Year 7 Poetry Slam Celebrates Student Talent

In celebration of National Poetry Day, Year 7 students were invited to participate in a Poetry Slam on 18 October. The theme of 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants' inspired a range of interesting creative writing and some fabulous choices of published verse.

Judges, Dominiqe P and Felicity P-R (Year 12), literature enthusiasts themselves, were instrumental in organising the event and priming the participants. They were amply rewarded by a genuine dilemma in selecting prize winners. Felicity and Dominiqe announced their decision in a recent assembly.
