Year 12 Explore University Life at Southampton

Year 12 students visited the University of Southampton for an enriching day, exploring courses, student life, and facilities, gaining valuable insights for their higher education journey.

On Wednesday 18 June, Year 12 students enjoyed an inspiring visit to the University of Southampton as part of their preparation for higher education. The day began with expert guidance on the university application process, including how to research courses and make informed decisions about their five UCAS choices.

Students had the opportunity to take part in a lively Q&A session with current undergraduates, gaining valuable insight into student life. They were then given a guided tour of the campus by university ambassadors, helping them to get a real feel for the environment and facilities on offer.

The visit also included two engaging taster lectures, delivered by Southampton University academics, offering a glimpse into the academic challenges and opportunities that university study provides. A particular highlight of the day was a special tour of the engineering facilities, generously led by Professor Muggleton—one of our parents—who provided students with a fascinating insight into the cutting-edge work and resources available within the faculty.

It was a valuable and enjoyable experience for all involved, giving Year 12 students a clearer picture of life at the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
