Written by Mrs Roberts | Leweston Equestrian Manager | Oct 28, 2024 8:39:51 AM

Our riders enjoyed a highly successful opening day at Addington, securing second place on the podium in both Team and Individual categories for the 75 and 85 JWS Championships (Jumping with Style arena eventing).

2nd Team 75cm JWS Georgia S, Bessie S, Charlotte S and Annabel G

2nd Individual 75cm JWS Annabel G and Minstrel

2nd Team 85cm JWS Florence C, Georgia S, Hen J and Poppy S

2nd Individual 85cm JWS Poppy S and Abbi

With swift and precise jumping in the outdoor show jumping ring, two of our three teams advanced to the evening finale and the 70-75cm jump-off (top 8 from the first round), ultimately securing 5th and 6th place.

5th Team Leweston Aqua: Charlotte S, Annabel G, Bessie S, Georgia S

6Th Team Leweston Marine: Darcy N, Florence C, Heidi H, Grace S

Heidi H was awarded the Best of the Rest sash and rosette for topping the leader board of the Individual riders.

Tilly W and Cece S jumped in the warmup Pumpkin class with Tilly placing 7th.

On Saturday, our 80-85cm Show Jumping teams faced challenges as numerous poles fell, preventing them from matching Friday's achievements. Nevertheless, our 95cm JWS team, who tackled the challenging course in the indoor arena first, secured 4th place.

95cm JWS Team: Poppy S, Hen J, Ruby P, Florence C

The RPL (Regional Points League) Show Jumping final is always a fun team event with up to eight riders in the team and two riders jumping at each height.

Leweston took home an 8th place rosette and more red buckets!

70-75cm         Tilly W + Annabel G

80-85cm          Heidi H + Darcy Norejko

90-95cm         Poppy S + Florence C

1m-1.05m       Ruby P + Hen J

Our Dressage team is very much in development and finished in 11th place.

Hen J and her horse, Fella, jumped lovely rounds in both the Intermediate and Open jumping finishing 11th out of 61 starters in the 1m-1.05 JWS class. They also finished their championships with a very respectable 68.10% in the Prelim Dressage Individual Championships, completing in 12th place out of 34 entries.

As always Leweston riders are hugely supportive of each other with great team spirit and compassion (sometimes things don’t quite go to plan!). Thank you to all our supporters and especially all our parents who do so much to enable the teams to be such a success.
