On Wednesday 22 January, Prep 5 took part in a STEM morning which focused on the Egg Drop Challenge. The pupils designed, costed, built and tested a lander to protect an egg when dropped from a height. They then delivered a presentation which included an evaluation of how their lander could have been improved.
Congratulations to the winning team who protected their egg with not only a bin bag parachute but also a crumple zone built of straws.
The aim of this activity was to promote awareness of STEM careers and to help the children develop important employability skills such as communication, team-work and problem-solving.
