Sixth Form Art Trip: Inspiring Creativity at Top London Museums

Last week, our creative Year 12 and 13 Art and Design students embarked on an inspiring trip to London! Bringing together students from Photography, Fine Art, Textiles, and 3D Design, they set off by train and captured beautiful images of the Thames along the way.

Their first stop was the Design Museum, where they explored the captivating Tim Burton and Barbie exhibitions. The Tim Burton exhibit featured iconic costumes, models, and set designs from films like Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice, giving our students an incredible look at his imaginative sketches and the process from drawing to creation. In contrast, the Barbie exhibit offered insight into the branding, costume design, and history of this cultural icon, inspiring students with its stylish nostalgia.

Our Sixth Formers then split into groups for even more exploration. The Fine Art and 3D Design students headed to the Tate Modern and Hayward Gallery, while our Textiles and Photography students visited the V&A to see the Naomi Campbell fashion exhibition and Fragile Beauty: Photographs from the Sir Elton John and David Furnish Collection.
