Prep 6 embarked on an exciting adventure to Kingswood, Devon, for their annual residential getaway from 15 - 17 May.
Upon their safe arrival at the Ultimate Adventure Centre in Bideford, the children indulged in a delicious lunch before diving into camp craft and Mountain-boarding activities. An evening session on the water assault course provided thrilling fun and ensured a peaceful night's rest for all.
Energised by a hearty breakfast, the pupils eagerly set off to Croyde Bay for an exhilarating day of surfing and coasteering, followed by a delightful evening of games and S'mores by the campfire. Excitement filled the final morning as Prep 6 basked in glorious sunshine, engaging in team games and rocket-building. A satisfying lunch and ice cream concluded the morning before they boarded the coach back to school, wrapping up a truly exceptional few days of adventure and camaraderie.
Mr. Thompson, the Head of Leweston Prep, enthusiastically joined Prep 6 during their residential adventure, actively participating in various activities and demonstrating to the pupils how it's done, all while providing encouragement and support to the group! He said "One of the most valuable experiences in a young child’s education, and the most talked about by the children themselves, is the annual residential activity trip. Last week, our Prep 6 pupils visited north Devon for an experience designed to be challenging. The aim was for the children to have fun, yet step out of their comfort zone, to work as a team and to support others, to learn more about themselves and each other. Having seen first hand how they threw themselves into every undertaking, the aim was undoubtedly achieved. It was certainly the ‘ultimate adventure’!"
