Prep 5 pupils followed in the wake of their Prep 6 peers this week as they launched into the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme for the first time. They participated in the two-day introductory RYA Stage 1 course at Rockley's Poole Park location, completing fun land-based sailing theory sessions in addition to getting lots of practical time on the water, learning the basics of how to sail dinghies.
Everyone had a wonderful time, sailing alongside their friends. In doing so they rapidly developed their boat handling skills, powering up techniques and how to competently manoeuvre their dinghies whilst working together to solve problems afloat as a crew.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in this course. The pupils can now look forward to developing their sailing skills further as they move up to Prep 6.
