A highlight of the liturgy was the ‘Flowering of the Cross’—a powerful tradition symbolising the new life that comes from Christ’s death and resurrection. One by one, students approached the bare cross, adorning it with flowers. As each bloom was added, the cross was transformed from a symbol of sorrow into a vibrant, living sign of hope and renewal.
We were especially honoured to have some of our staff, who are mothers themselves, participate as readers—adding an extra layer of meaning to this celebration of Mary’s maternal love.
