We are exceptionally proud of the two Leweston teams who took part in the Ten Tors Challenge at the weekend.
Team Orange came home in the fastest time yet posted by a Leweston team, finishing the 45m route at 14.48 on Sunday afternoon. Well done to Ava, Tilly, Dasha, Grace, Alex and Elio. Team Green started well reaching Higher White Tor late on Saturday evening but sadly fate turned against them on Sunday and they were forced to withdraw.
Ten Tors stands alone in its scale; the distance, terrain and, at times, weather ensure that those involved push themselves to the limit and is not a challenge for the faint hearted. All of the students involved have been training for the Army led event since the Autumn and have shown impressive levels of commitment taking on regular training walks and spending two weekends on Dartmoor ahead of the main event.
Congratulations to all those involved. We look to the current Year 11s to see who will take up the baton next year?
