Last week, Leweston School transformed into a cinematic backdrop as we welcomed the cast and crew of an indie folklore film written and directed by Leweston Old Antonian (alumnus), Florence. The production, which is being filmed across Dorset and neighbouring counties, chose Leweston for a day of shooting and we were delighted to host them.
Filming took place down our driveway and out onto local roads. The crew, cast, and production equipment were based in the Manor House and car park, with all safeguarding protocols carefully followed.
Students asked thoughtful questions, explored the camera rig - including a moving vehicle setup - and got hands-on with a clapperboard for some fun behind-the-scenes moments.
Welcoming Florence back to Leweston was a proud moment for our community. Her journey from student to filmmaker is a testament to the creative spirit and ambition we nurture here. This collaboration not only showcased Leweston as a stunning filming location but also reinforced our commitment to providing students with real-world opportunities and inspiring alumni connections.
We look forward to seeing Florence’s film come to life and to more exciting partnerships in the future.
