Almost half of all grades awarded were at 9–7, equivalent to A*–A under the former grading system, reflecting the hard work, determination and commitment of Leweston’s Year 11 students and the dedication of their teachers.

This year, 13 subjects achieved their strongest results of the past three years, including Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. More than half of all subjects recorded over 50% of grades at 9–7, with particularly impressive performances in Business and Fine Art, where three-quarters of grades achieved 9–7.

Geography was another standout subject, with almost 90% of entries achieving grades 9–7.

Among the individual successes Pennie, Ellie, Luigi, Ola, Harry and Robin achieved an exceptional combined total of 55 grades at 9–7.

The results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the resilience and determination shown by students throughout their GCSE years. With students now progressing to an exciting range of Sixth Form subjects, the results provide a strong foundation for the next stage of their education. This year also sees Leweston welcome its first cohort of students studying BTEC Engineering, further broadening the opportunities available to its Sixth Form students.

John Paget-Tomlinson, Head of Leweston School, said: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and delighted to see their hard work and determination rewarded with such a fantastic set of results. These results are a testament to the commitment of our students, alongside the support and expertise of our teaching staff. It is particularly pleasing to see such strong performances across such a broad range of subjects, as well as individual students achieving outstanding results. We look forward to seeing all our students take the next steps in their education and wish them every success for the future.”

Leweston extends its congratulations to the whole Year 11 cohort and to the staff who have supported them throughout their GCSE journey.
