Leweston Named Finalist in the Independent School of the Year Awards for SEND Provision

The awards celebrate excellence across the independent education sector, with this year's judging process attracting entries from hundreds of schools nationwide. Having been commended in July, Leweston is now one of a small number of schools shortlisted as finalists, with the overall winners to be announced at the awards ceremony on 14 October.

The recognition reflects something that sits at the heart of every classroom at Leweston: a genuine commitment to knowing each pupil as an individual. Whatever a child's starting point, staff take the time to understand how they learn best, where they need more challenge, and where they need extra support, and to act on that understanding, term after term.

"This nomination is a wonderful reflection of the care and attentiveness our Individual Needs Department bring to their work with each pupil, every day," said John Paget-Tomlinson, Head of Leweston School. "Understanding every child as an individual isn't a programme we run, it's simply how our whole staff body teach. We're proud that this has been recognised, and prouder still of the relationships our staff build with pupils to make it possible."

This personalised approach is made possible by dedicated staff who build strong relationships with pupils and take the time to ask the right questions at the right moment. It is this culture of care, expertise and understanding, applied consistently across the whole school, that underpins Leweston's provision for every child.
