Many thanks to Rebecca Haskell for delivering a Leweston Lecture on her career as a Global Forestry Consultant.
Rebecca explained how providing FSC certification is more than just sustainable production, but also includes consideration of workers rights, health and safety, enhancement of landscape, biodiversity, conservation of archaeological and cultural heritage, protection of water sources and support for local communities.
Discussing the opportunities for world travel and the joy of working outdoors in amazing surroundings was inspirational and Rebecca also provided practical information and advice about how to develop a career in this field.
