Our Boys 1st XI began their hockey season strong, with a win against Sherborne School 2nd XI. Sherborne initially led with an early goal, but Leweston's teamwork tied the score at 2-2 by the middle third, thanks to Ben H and Jonas G. In the final third, Freddie S secured the win with a decisive goal.

The team continued their form with a 7-1 victory over Milton Abbey School 1st XI, leading 3-0 in the first quarter. Milton Abbey kept their energy throughout the game, putting up a fight until the final whistle. Leweston did well maintaining composure and control throughout the game.

Riding off the back of their success, the team were crowned U18 Dorset Champions on 21 January. They played 4 matches and returned the following results:

Won 2-0 against Poole Grammar.

Won 4-0 against QE Wimborne.

Drew 0-0 against Gillingham  School.

Won 1-0 against Milton Abbey.

Leweston played consistently good hockey in all their matches and were the stand out team on the day. Despite the short length of games, Leweston played excellent attacking hockey all afternoon, controlling possession throughout, and creating several strong scoring opportunities.

Our Boys 1st XI now advance through to the regional playoffs at Millfield, a first for the school at this age group level.
