Recently, 10 athletes from Leweston participated in the Cheltenham Biathle. This event features a continuous Run-Swim-Run format, catering to age groups ranging from U11 to masters, each with varying distances. The competition served as a qualifier for the GB Biathle team selection for the European Biathle Championships in Turkey.

The athletes faced strong competition, with Jay C, Izzy W, and Esme L securing spots on the GB team, Lara P awaiting selection, and Henry M named as a reserve. In the individual races, both Jay C and Izzy W earned bronze medals.

The positions of the Leweston athletes were as follows:

U13: Henry M 9th, Elizabeth D 16th

U15: Aidan K 12th, Lara P 8th, Sadie L 14th, Freya D 15th, Izzy K 16th (all Leweston girls advanced to the final after heats)

U19: Jay C 3rd, Izzy W 3rd, Esme L 6th.

Congratulations to all the Leweston athletes. They now eagerly anticipate the European qualifying events for the Laser Run and Triathle at Leweston this weekend!
