The pupils discovered fascinating facts about WW1 and Remembrance, learning about key dates, the significance of Remembrance Day, and the events of the war. They were intrigued by the stories of animals used during the war and learned that a purple poppy honours the animals that served and sacrificed.
A big thank you to Mr Stok, who brought history to life with an impressive collection of artefacts, including gas masks, helmets from various countries, bomb shell cases, period clothing, and some of the weapons used back then.
Their marching skills around the playground were impressive, and they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. So captivated by the experience, they even carried the topic into their playtime!
