Charity Hockey Festival Raises Over £1000 for Julia's House

Will T, the Year 13 Charity Prefect, coordinated the inaugural Charity Hockey Festival with the help of his fellow Prefects. The event brought together staff, students, and parents on the school's newly refurbished astro for an enjoyable afternoon of hockey, all in support of a charitable cause.

Congratulations to Will and the Prefect team, who have written about the event below.

"On Sunday 6 October, Leweston got together for a Charity Hockey Festival in support of local children's hospice, Julia's House. The event was a huge success, with some great hockey being played and over £1000 raised so far. Although it seemed like a tropical monsoon had blown over Leweston, we powered through with great spirit, with fantastic support from the parents and some incredible (and maybe slightly overcompetitive) enthusiasm from the players. Results and prizes will be announced shortly at an upcoming assembly.

Massive thank you to everyone for coming to support our chosen charity and we hope you enjoyed the event. Special thanks to PALS, Mr P-T, Mrs Goodfellow and Mrs Thompson for helping with the food for the event, all staff who contributed cakes, and Mr Thompson and Gyles Broadhead for some brilliant umpiring."
